to my virtual home! This is a creative space where you’ll find lots of encouragement to aim for Jesus always and devotional-style blogs, prayers, and other resources for exploring and embracing the abundant life Jesus promised in John 10:10, “I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”
One of the things I’m passionate about is discipleship, and I write blogs with that design! Through discipleship, we learn to follow Jesus in community and apply God’s Word in our lives, relationships are valued, people are truly cared for, everyone has a voice, and it’s a safe place for every heart to share and grow. In a typical #aimforhim blog, you’ll find reflection questions, application questions, a prayer, and a real-life story. All of these elements make the blogs great to read individually or to go through with a mentor or small group!
My discipler’s heart wishes we could meet in person and chat about God, and maybe one day we’ll get to! So, don’t be a stranger; I’d love to hear from you!
a little about me
I’m a grace girl, wife to Steve (who works in full-time ministry), a stepmom, a project manager working full-time at an international ministry (RZIM), a curly girl naturally, a minimalist, a great cook, and obviously, I love to write! My good friends describe me as just the right mix of sweet and sassy, which plays out like this: the sweet part causes me to be underestimated quite often, and the sassy part occasionally gets me in trouble! It also means I have a lot of stories on the topic of identity, so stay tuned!
The blog is something God led me to do to encourage and love others, but I’m pretty sure I’m the one who needs it the most! It’s been a creative outlet and a wonderful distraction that has drawn me closer to Jesus. The blog was birthed after God brought me out of a time of intense trials and struggles. This blog reflects the beauty of what He taught me!
I’m fascinated by people’s life stories and a lover of anything inspired by a true story—art, movies, plays, historical sites. I’m a big fan of naps, vacations, smoothies, iced coffee, post-it notes, color sharpies, and of course, chocolate!
At the end of each day, I’m simply
a woman who
…tries to dodge identity lies and distractions and stay focused on honoring God.
…wants her anxious feelings quieted by the peace of God.
…longs to find eternal purpose in the things of life that seem pointless or painful.
…wants to be tough enough to make it in the world with a soft heart towards God.
…desires for God to replace her fear with faith that makes the world brighter.
If any of these describe you, then you’re in the right place. Here’s God’s promise to us: “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” (Matthew 6:33).
